Chase Bank USA offers a number of student credit cards with various types of benefits and incentives. If you are a student of any college or university, you can take the advantage of it. You will get cash back offers with every purchase you make with the student credit card and even while paying your college fees and buying books.

Chase Student Flexible Rewards Visa Card earns you points towards free merchandise or gift certificates with every purchase. It charges 0% Annual Percentage rate (APR) for the initial six months. After that, a variable APR from 17.99% to 22.99% will be charged depending on your spending and payment of the dues. It charges 23.99% APR for cash advance and 31.99% in case of default. It provides a grace period of at least 20 days for repayment of purchase balances. It applies two-cycle average daily balance method for computing the balance for purchases. It has no annual fee.

It rewards 1 point per dollar spent. When you collect 25,000 points, you can claim a free round trip coach airline ticket on any major U.S. airline. You can also redeem your points for hotel night stays or car rentals. Besides, you can redeem your points by buying from top brand names like Sony, Weber and Coach. Starting at 3,000 points, you can redeem from some of the country's top restaurants and stores including Olive Garden. Maximum point accumulation is 60,000.

There are also Chase Student Free Cash Visa Card and Chase Student MasterCard. With Chase Student Free Cash Visa, every purchase on your card earns you points towards cash-back or a gift card through which you can get some select popular categories of products.

In all these student credit cards, APR for purchases is 0% for the first 6 billing cycles following the opening of your account. After that, 17.99% to 22.99% APR is charged depending on your spending and paying back the balance. For Balance Transfer, APR is 0% for the first 6 billing cycles. After that, it charges 17.99% to 22.99% APR. For cash advance, APR is 23.99%. In case of default payment, APR is 31.99%. Grace period for repayment of purchase balances is at least 20 days in the cards.

It applies two-cycle average daily balance method for calculating the balance. It has no annual fee. Transaction fee for balance transfers is 3% of the amount of each transaction, but not less than $5.00 nor more than $75.00. Transaction fee for cash advances is 3% of the amount of the transaction, but not less than $10.00. It also charges fees for late payments and if you are taking credit over the limit.

Discover Platinum Card is one of the cash reward credit cards operated by Discover Financial Services, a business unit of Morgan Stanley. The card offers a number of benefits to the user.

Discover Platinum Card provides 5% cash back on purchases made at select merchants or in certain categories throughout the year. You will get up to 1% cash back on all other purchases made using the card. Besides, you can increase your cash back bonus when you redeem your cash rewards for gift cards or certificates from the company's partners. Certain circumstances, such as account closure and inactivity for more than 36 months, however, could result in forfeiture of some or all your cash back bonus.

The Annual Percentage Rate or APR is 0% for all purchases till the last day of the billing period. After that the standard APR (estimated between 11.24% and 18.24%) is charged. Balance transfer APR is 0% till the last day of the billing period. Post this period, the standard APR is charged. For defaulters, the rate is between 16.24% and 28.99% and is decided on the basis of their payment history. For cash advances, the APR varies between 20.99% and 22.99% based on what Discover Card you have.

A 25 day (or more) grace period or interest-free period is also there for Discover Platinum Card holders. Credit limit for Discover Platinum Card is $5,000 and $1000 for Discover Gold/Classic Card. The two cycle average daily balance method is applied to determine the card holder's charges. This method is slightly costlier than the more commonly used daily average balance. The Discover Platinum Card has no annual fee. Also, there is no charge for additional cards on one account. You can share all the benefits of the cards with your family members with the additional cards issued in your name.

The fee for every cash advance transaction with this card is 3%. It charges late fee of $15 on balances up to $500, and $39 on balances over $500. Its over limit fee is $15 on balances up to $500, and $39 on balances over $500. You will get air travel accident insurance and rental car collision coverage with this card.
